Young Swiss talent faces tough competition
The qualifying matches at this year's Swiss Indoors from October 19 to 27 start next weekend with the first round matches on Saturday and the final round on Sunday. The starting position is extremely exciting. The entry list includes top-class names such as Roberto Bautista Agut, David Goffin, Juncheng Shang, Alexander Shevchenko, Fabio Fogniniand many more. The three young Swiss talents Jerome Kym (22), Mika Brunold (20) and Henry Bernet (17), who are based in the region, will also be involved in the action. All three will benefit from a wild card and will do everything in their power to make the most of their home advantage and prove their exceptional talent.
Explosive excitement in the Main Draw
Starting on Monday, the action-packed main tournament will kick off with the “Super Monday” and an opening ceremony featuring Gölä. As previously highlighted, many Basel participants have won prestigious titles this season: Andrey Rublev (winner in Madrid), Casper Ruud (winner in Barcelona), Stefanos Tsitsipas (winner in Monte Carlo), Ben Shelton (winner in Houston), and Arthur Fils (winner in Hamburg and Tokyo). These players, along with key figures like Holger Rune and Jiri Lehecka, as well as two-time champion Félix Auger-Aliassime and Swiss stars Stan Wawrinka and Dominic Stricker, will be the focus of attention. The third wild card has been given to former top-ten player Denis Shapovalov (Canada), who won the Davis Cup in 2022 alongside Félix Auger-Aliassime.
