The draw for the main tournament has removed all doubt that spectators can look forward to world-class match-ups – even in the first round. After the unfortunate injury-related withdrawal of star player Carlos Alcaraz (ATP 2), the focus now shifts to title-holder Félix Auger-Aliassime (ATP 17) and his first-round opponent, Swiss wildcard entrant Leandro Riedi. The top seed and last-year’s finalist Holger Rune (ATP 6) will also kick off his tournament, taking on Miomir Kecmanovic (ATP 53).
With so much talent in the field, it’s tough to make out a clear favourite heading into the tournament. Last year’s next-gen superstars will be up against top players like Casper Ruud (ATP 8), Taylor Fritz (ATP 10) and Hubert Hurkacz (ATP 11). And it’s not just the up-and-comers vying for glory: experienced Grand-Slam winners Stan Wawrinka (ATP 46) and Andy Murray (ATP 39) will also be on hand to wow the crowds with world-class tennis. We’re excited to find out who will come out top on Center Court and hoist the prestigious trophy at this year’s Swiss Indoors Basel.
