The premium tournament in Basel is part of the Champions League of tennis. The winner can look forward to prize money of EUR 430,125.
As part of the ATP Tour 500 Series, Basel has been one of the 20 premium tournaments since 2009 – the Champions League of tennis. The field is extremely competitive – this year’s cut-off for direct qualification for the main draw was a world ranking of 50. Lower-ranked players had to wait and see, or go through qualification. Large countries such as Germany and the United States lack an indoor event with the stature of Basel, with its impressive field of top players.
EUR 2,219,975: this is the total prize money for the players. The figure includes taxes and contributions to the pension funds of the ATP World Tour. The net total for the winner is EUR 430,125. And because Swiss Indoors is one of the ATP 500 Series events, the victor also garners an additional 500 ATP points.
