The game is on for Zverev and Tsitsipas

21. Okt 2019

The excitement is set to hit new heights: on Tuesday 22 October 2019, the match schedule includes not only Alexander Zverev (ATP 6) and Stefanos Tsitsipas (ATP 7), but also Fabio Fognini (ATP 12) and Roberto Bautista Agut (ATP 10).

After the grand opening on Monday, Tuesday promises to serve up even more action and excitement. The German Alexander Zverev (ATP 6) will play his first match around 5 pm. At the Shanghai Masters, the 22-year-old made it all the way to the final, where he lost to Daniil Medvedev. His opponent in Basel is the 21-year-old US player Taylor Fritz (ATP 31). This up-and-coming young American from sunny California is one to watch out for!

Tomorrow will also see Stefanos Tsitsipas (ATP 7), who has already qualified for the ATP Finals in London, step onto the court for his first-round match against the Spanish Albert Ramos Viñolas (ATP 42). Ramos Viñolas won the Swiss Open in Gstaad this year and is not an opponent to be taken lightly. Their match is scheduled for 7 pm.

And there are yet more thrilling matches in store tomorrow: fifth seed Fabio Fognini (ATP 12) will face the qualifier Alexei Popyrin (ATP 88). And last year’s finalist Marius Copil (ATP 82) will make the most of a wildcard to join the proceedings in Basel tomorrow, playing against the Spanish Roberto Bautista Agut (ATP 10).
